Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) and Nokia  jointly organized a roundtable on “Progressing Bangladesh to an Information Society”. The roundtable was held at the Dhaka Sheraton Hotel on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 from 11:00 AM to 01.00 PM.

The objective of the roundtable was to highlight the importance of the growth of mobile based information dissemination in Bangladesh. To help telecom and ICT flourish in Bangladesh, there us a need for strong legal framework and policy decisions as well as more effective regulatory actions.

Mr. Abul Kalam Azad, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Information had kindly consented to be the Chief Guest at the roundtable.

Professor Jamilur Reza Chowdhury was the Keynote Speaker at the roundtable.

Distinguished policy-makers and representatives from the government, media, academia and private sector were present at the seminar.
