Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) organized A Lecture on Party Democracy and Financing of Political Parties in Germany:relevance for Bangladesh on Monday, 17 May 2010, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the BEI conference room (House No. 20, Road No. 5, Gulshan. 1, Dhaka-1212, Bangladesh).
Dr. Ulrich von Alemann, Professor, Department of Political Science, and Prorector, Heinrich Heine University, Duesseldorf, Germany delivered the lecture.

Short Profile of Prof. Dr. Ulrich von Alemann
Dr. Ulrich von Alemann is full professor of political science and prorector at the Heinrich Heine University of Duesseldorf. His research mainly focuses on political parties, democracy theory, European integration, organized interests and political corruption. He serves in a number of political advisory committees of the German government and of NGOs.
He was a member of the Commission of Independent Experts on Party Finance created by the German party law. He is member of advisory boards such as Transparency International Germany and Stiftung Jugend debattiert. Furthermore he is a member of the editorial board of the journal German Politics and Zeitschrift für Politikberatung and he is Fellow of the NRW-School of Governance.
