The Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) and Dhaka Branch Council (DBC) of The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) jointly organized a seminar titled Corporate Governance: CMA’s Role in the Change Process. The seminar was held on September 2, 2006 from 3:30 pm – 7:00 pm at the BEI conference room, House # 20, Road # 5, Gulshan – 1, Dhaka.
Dr. Y.R.K. Reddy, Chairman of Yaga Consulting Ltd and founder trustee of Academy of Corporate Governance (ACG), India, Mr. Adeeb H. Khan, FCA, Partner, Rahman Rahman Huq, and Md. Mahbubur Rahman, FCMA, Head of Legal & Company Secretary, British American Tobacco, Bangladesh spoke at this seminar.
Corporate Governance practices have become mandatory in developed economies and have recently become mandatory for listed companies in Bangladesh. The importance of good corporate governance practices is being increasingly accepted worldwide since it has consistently provided results. This programme provided a unique blend of international and local perspectives on corporate governance.
