Beyond maximizing and making more efficient remittance flows to Bangladesh, the website also seeks to improve knowledge transfer and increase foreign direct investment into Bangladesh.A short overview of the project and programme of the event are attached for your reference.

BEI in partnership with AT Capital has initiated a year long project on Establishment of an Effective Bangladeshi Diaspora Network for Economic Transformation of Bangladesh. The objective of this project is to identify the potential of the Bangladeshi Diaspora in the economic transformation of Bangladesh through leveraging its Diaspora in terms of knowledge and skills transfers and improving its global commercial interface. The Project will also promote the establishment of an effective Diaspora Knowledge Network (DKN) of British Citizens of Bangladeshi origin and organizations and individuals in Bangladesh. As part of this project, we have organized 6 workshops (4 in UK and 2 in Bangladesh), developed a strategy paper, published bi-monthly e-newsletters and currently, preparing a comprehensive database of NRBs residing in the UK. The e-newsletter includes articles on advocacy issues, profiles of prominent NRBs, and summaries of key, current developments in the Bangladeshi economy and financial markets.
