The Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) is organizing a discussion on Bottlenecks to FDI in Bangladesh: How Best to Improve the Investment Climate on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 from 3:30 pm at the BEI Conference Room (House 20, Road 5, Gulshan 1, Dhaka 1212).
Mr. Kamaluddin Ahmed, Executive Chairman, Board of Investment, Government of Bangladesh, has kindly consented to grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.
A panel of experts from the public and the private sectors were present at the event to discuss and share their thoughts about the state of the country’s investment climate and how it can be improved to attract higher FDI to Bangladesh. The panelists included:
1. Dr. Hua Du, Resident Representative, Asian Development Bank
2. Mr. Andrew Proctor, Investment Policy and Promotion Consultant, The World Bank Group
3. Mr. Steve Wilson, Managing Director, Chevron Bangladesh
4. Mr. Majedur Rahman, Director, FICCI
Distinguished representatives from the government, private sector, development partners, civil society, academia and media were also present at the discussion.
