Roundtable discussion on Energy and Power Crisis

The Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) organized a roundtable discussion on Energy and Power Crisis on Sunday, November 12, 2007 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the BEI Conference Room.
Mr. Tapan Chowdhury, Honourable Adviser, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The roundtable discussion will be chaired by Mr. Farooq Sobhan, President, BEI.
The roundtable is part of an ongoing initiative, Promoting Good Governance; Key Reform Challenges facing Bangladesh, undertaken by BEI, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program. Under this initiative, BEI will be organizing a series of six roundtable discussions on key reform challenges, which Bangladesh needs to address and overcome by promoting good governance. This initiative was launched in August 2007 and the discussion on Energy and Power Crisis is going to be the second in the series of roundtable discussions. The first roundtable discussion under this initiative, Anticorruption Drive and the Way Forward, was held on September 05, 2007.
Distinguished representatives from the government, private sector, development partners, civil society, academia and media are expected to attend the roundtables.
