A half day training Programme on Communication on Progress (COP) of the UN Global Compact (UNGC)

The Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) and CSR Centre – the focal points of UN Global Compact Local Network in Bangladesh organized A half day training Programme on Communication on Progress (COP) of the UN Global Compact (UNGC) on December 9, 2009 from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm at the BEI Conference Room (House 20, Road 05, Gulshan 1, Dhaka 1212, Bangladesh).
The COP is a critical medium by which the GC participants communicates with the entire GC network and makes its CSR activities more visible. The objective of this training is to make the UNGC signatories more conversant on the reporting structure of COP and thus result in regular submission of the report.
The training was conducted by Ms. Sara Ballan, an international resource person from Denmark. Sara is part of the CSR-team at the Confederation of Danish Industries. The team assists companies develop and implement CSR-strategies with a special focus on companies operating in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Sara is currently engaged in developing the Global Compact Self Assessment. Sara has extensive experience working with CSR. Prior to joining DIBD Sara was head of the secretariat for the National Network of Business Leaders – a CSR network that functions as an advisory council for the Danish Minister of Employment. Sara has also developed CSR strategies at a large multinational company and worked for the Copenhagen Centre for Corporate Responsibility. Sara has a background in political science and business and has studies at Copenhagen University, Copenhagen Business School, Stern School of Business (US), and Tsinghua University (China).
