A Workshop on “Challenges Pertaining to the Effective Implementation of the RTI process”

Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) organized a workshop on Challenges Pertaining to the Effective Implementation of the RTI process held on 24 March 2011 from 10.00 AM to 1.30 PM. at the LGED Conference room , 4th Floor, LGED HQ, LGED Bhaban, Sher-E-Bangla Nagar, Agargaon, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Ambassador Muhammad Zamir, Chief Information Commissioner, Information Commission Bangladesh had kindly consented to be the Chief Guest at the workshop.
Mr. Zaglul Ahmed Chowdhury, Former Managing Director of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) and an eminent media personality were present the key note speech at the workshop.
Mr. Farooq Sobhan, President, BEI chaired the workshop.
Mr. Ghulam Rahman, Chairman, Anti Corruption Commission, Mr. Hedayetullah Al Mamoon, ndc, Secretary, Ministry of Information Government of the Peopleâ€™s Republic of Bangladesh and Denise Rollins, Mission Director, USAID/Bangladesh were present as Special Guests and Guest of Honour respectively at the meeting.
This workshop will bring together senior representatives from the government, policy makers, telecom operators, development agencies, NGOs, corporate houses, the private sector, academia, media and software and IT industries to discuss the challenges and suggest possible recommendations to facilitate effective implementation of the Right to Information (RTI) process in Bangladesh.Â
