A workshop on Non-Traditional Security Challenges in South Asia: 2025

Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) in association with the National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR) jointly organized a workshop on “Non-Traditional Security Challenges in South Asia: 2025”. The workshop was held on November 21, 2009, from 9:00 am to 6:30 pm, at the BEI Conference Room, House 20, Road 05, Gulshan 1, Dhaka 1212, Bangladesh.
NBR is a non-profit, non-partisan research institute based in Seattle, Washington, USA that conducts advanced research on politics and security, economics and trade, and health and societal issues. Under the aegis of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation’s Asia Security Initiative, NBR is organizing a three year project that will explore opportunities for cooperation on non-traditional security challenges in South Asia. For this first year, NBR is partnering with BEI.
NBR, in collaboration with BEI, launched this initiative with a workshop in Dhaka. This event brought together an international team of experts to discuss trends and concerns in the areas of food and water security, environmental security and disaster management, and health and human security.
