The Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) launched two comprehensive research reports entitled “The Role of Education in Countering-Radicalization in Bangladesh,” and “Terrorist Financing in Bangladesh” on 22 December, 2015 at Flambe Restaurant in Dhaka.

Mr. Farooq Sobhan, the President and CEO of BEI lead two discussions on the topics of the reports. Major issues discussed were education’s role in countering the menace of radicalization and how to use education as a potential instrument against countering and refuting the appeals of radicalization in Bangladesh. Air Cdre (Retd) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, Registrar of the University of Asia Pacific was the discussant on this report. A second presentation highlighted the dynamics of terrorist financing, various current trends and sources of terrorist financing and the counter-measures that can be taken were discussed in detail.

Well-renowned security experts, government officials, academics, representative from the financial sectors, banking professional, and members of civil society attended the report launching ceremony.
