The duration of the project is 16 months in six divisions of Bangladesh (Khulna, Rajshahi, Chattogram, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Dhaka). The goal of the project is to promote civil society and media participation in improving public sector accountability and transparency for strengthening the rule of law. Three objectives of the project are to enhance the capacity of CSOs/NGOs and media representatives, facilitating their contribution in creating social demand for accountability and transparency; to engage them with the policy making and service delivery institutions for gathering information, analysing policy to secure desired level of accountability and transparency in governance and, finally, to develop a network between the CSOs/NGOs and media personnel for fostering collaboration, exchanging learning and good practices to strengthen the climate of accountability and transparency in public service delivery. BEI has planned to train some selective CSOs/NGOs and media personnel, engage them in a participatory research, debunk their findings through a community radio program and share the experience through a lesson-learned dialogue to accomplish the project goal and objectives.
