A “Biannual Bangladesh PVE Stocktaking Workshop” was organized by the United Nations Resident Coordinator (UNRC) of Bangladesh with the support of Canadian High Commission (CHC) Dhaka, Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and United Nations Office on Counter Terrorism (UNOCT) on Sunday, 28 April 2019 at Lakeshore Hotel, Gulshan-2, Dhaka.

Ambassador Farooq Sobhan, Distinguished Fellow & Board Member, Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) was invited as the guest of honor in the conference where Ambassador M. Humayun Kabir, Acting President, Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) and Mr. Mohammad Humayun Kabir, Director General, Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) was invited to moderate two session of the event. Professor Shahab Enam Khan, Research Director, Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI), Presented a paper on “Social Mapping of Women and Extremism in Bangladesh: Reimagining the Internet and its Links with Women” in the event.

Mr. Rafal Rohozinski, CEO, SecDev Foundation, Canada; Mr. Md. Monirul Islam, bpm (bar) ppm (bar), Additional Commissioner of Police, Chief of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTCU), Bangladesh Police, Ministry of Home Affairs; Mr. A.S.M. Tarek Semul, Research Fellow; Bangladesh Institute of International Strategic Studies (BIISS); and Mr. Abdullah Ar Rafee, Senior Research Associate, The Institute of Policy and Governance (IPAG) presented their own paper in the event.

The event was attended by CSO representatives, Multi-National Company Stakeholders, IGO representatives, Academics, NGO representatives, Government officials and members of Law Enforcement Agencies.
